Sharing Our Faith

Go, then, to all peoples everywhere and make them my disciples: baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and teach them to obey everything I have commanded you. And I will be with you always, to the end of the age.”

Matthew 28:18-20

At Riverside United Methodist Church, we believe in the power of community and the importance of sharing our faith. Our congregation comes together to support each other in our spiritual journeys, fostering a welcoming environment for all.

We invite you to join us in exploring our beliefs and values while engaging in meaningful discussions and activities that inspire personal and communal growth. Together, we create a space where everyone feels valued and cherished in their path of faith.

Helping Hands

Evangelism Team

The goal of Riverside UMC’s Evangelism Team is to share and spread the message of Jesus Christ, both within and outside of our community. Our outreach efforts are designed to encourage people to learn about and accept the teachings of Jesus Christ. The team often engages in activities like community events, one-on-one conversations, prayer, and providing resources to help individuals grow in faith. Ultimately, spiritual transformation is the end goal.

By building relationships one day at a time, we hope to support people on their journey toward faith.

The Riverside Prayer Team meets every Monday from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm in fellowship hall. The Prayer Team prays for the Riverside UMC family, the community, loved ones, friends and those who need intercessory prayers. These devoted individuals note only pray corporately during the meeting, but also pray individually all week long.

The Methodist Men meets the third Sunday of every month at 7:30 am in Fellowship Hall for breakfast, fellowship and bible study.

At Riverside United Methodist Church, we are dedicated to fostering a vibrant community where all men can grow spiritually and personally. Our men’s ministries are designed to empower men to engage in meaningful fellowship and service, strengthening their faith and commitment.

Whether you’re looking to deepen your understanding of the gospel, connect with like-minded individuals, or make a positive impact within our church and wider community, we invite you to join us on this rewarding journey.

Methodist Men also sponsors the sale of locally produced honey and barbecue sauce. The proceeds are used to provide  backpacks for local elementary schools, make repairs from storm damage and address other needs that the school may have.

The Walk to Emmaus (also known as the Emmaus Walk) is a three-day retreat that includes singing, learning, praying, and small-group discussion focused on fifteen themes shared by Emmaus leaders.

The word Emmaus in Walk to Emmaus is from the account in Luke 24 in which Jesus walks with two disciples on the road to Emmaus from Jerusalem on the day of His resurrection. Emmaus experiences are intended to be a time of “spiritual renewal and
formation.”

Participants are invited by a sponsor and apply to participate. During the weekend, participants meet with small groups and are encouraged to explore how they can live the call to discipleship within their own homes, churches, and communities.

Participants are invited to continue meeting with small groups and others of the Emmaus community after the weekend concludes for continued accountability, instruction, support, and encouragement. Past participants are also invited to serve at future Walk to Emmaus weekends.
